Zion Nat'l Park East Rim
Ford trip, Russell, Dixon, to Deer Trap.
May 30, 1931
The canyon & surrounding
territory has slowly recovered
itself. I think this region is one
of the most outstanding example
of the suicidal effects of over-
grazing especially by sheep.
And the damage will continue
until sheep grazing between
the park & Cedar Breaks is
either regulated or prohibited
to give the cover a chance to
restore. Deep gash erosion is
common in all the sedimentary
soils & small valleys.
