Thompson Zion Natl. Park, West Rim. Horseback trip from Lee's Ranch to Springdale & Lodge. Russell, Woodbury, Dixon, & P.N.H. 1. Phrynosoma platyrhinos, long horned, low -> elevation. 2. Phrynosoma douglasii, short horned Also Collared Lizards, Checkered Race Runners, Desert Scaly Lizard, Stejeners Sceloporus elongatus, and various small lizards unidentified. These were all put in a tin can with the horned toads, and a female tarantula which we dug out of a web-lined hole about 18 inches deep. None of the incarcerated reptiles or spider injured each other. No snakes were encountered. Chipmunks, and Rock squirrels frequent. Gopher working abundant. Jack Rabbits & Cotton tails numerous in sagebrush areas. Also, antelope ground squirrels.
