Lampropeltis getulus
1.
July 23
UCR campus, Riverside Co., Calif.
This morning at 0900 and adult
about 30 inches long was seen lying
perfectly still in some brush
about 50 feet below our wooden blind
at the south edge of the campus.
It remained still when Frank Aubrey
walked down to look at it. He
stopped about 3 feet from the snake,
which was banded black and bright
yellow. As soon as Frank
started to return to the blind, the
snake disappeared in thick brush
down the hill.
