Mayhew 1960 Arizona elegans 1. Apr. 13 6 mi. N.W. of 1000 Palms, Riverside Co., Calif. an immature animal was caught on the road at 2135. The air temp (30°) was 23.2°C. The body temp. of the snake was difficult to get because the animal was so small. Eventually the thermometer was inserted into the cloaca & a temp. of 26°C. was recorded. The animal was then released. 1964 June 4 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. an adult was captured 8 miles west of Glamis at 0705 this morning as it was crossing the paved road we were traveling.
