collection. we did the rodents (22 species); he has described almt 57 altogether. Today is Sunday June 19. Tuesday June 29. we finished at Leyden last Thursday, and were in England Friday morning, having crossed from Hook of Holland to Harwich, & thence to London. went to Musum in afternoon. Saw Morris- Scott the new mammal man. And the next day Hinton + Dollman. met Fellows, Oldfield, Hunt and King (the last a new comer). Settled down to first days work Monday morning. Thursday July 8. been started with Papuan marsupials plats. met Shaw Preyer, & a fellow named Morrison who is going to Pest collect. The former is going out to E. Papua in almt a week from now. Also met Frost who has collected in Java. Mr Schuler, editor of Zoological Rec. took us to level the other day. Have done no photography yet because the "contax" needed overhauling, (Just got it back) so there is a vast accumulation of type skulls awaiting the taking of their pictures. Starting Papuan rodents tomorrow!
