Sun. Mar. 21. Took all specimens if board this morning.
Barom. nearly here in Moreby or little lower than it was in
January : & about - 10 metres , or 73.86 mm.
Mon. Mar. 22. Packing specimens , arranging business
of leaving ; boys' pay-off. They put their money all
right because about 5 o'clock I saw evidence
that they had been spending it . All five were
starty boat for Koki ( the boys' quarters at
Moreby ) with a large , new paper suitcase
and an umbrella.
Tu. Mar. 23. Stuart Campbell flew in from
the Onorilla camp on the Fly , bringing Ward
Williams who was ill with fever !
Wed Mar 24. The " MacDhui " arrived from
the south bringing me one letter . Mrs Woodward,
wife of the former R.M. of Dawn was on
board.
Thurs. Mar. 25. We sailed at 9 p.m.
Cork is on board ( projector & mining engineer ),
He was on the ship by which we went to Papua
more than a year ago.
Saturday Mar. 27 Reached Cairns at 3 pm,
left again at 5.30 pm.
Tuesday - Mar. 30. Arrived Brisbane,
Museum.
Saw Sopman.
Studied some types.
Sat Apr. 3. Left by s.s. " OrinĂ³ " for Sydney -
Apr. 5 Arrived Sydney - Anderson ( direct ) & Trumble -
( also metals ).
Worked with Trumble at Museum April 6 to 9.
Sat Apr. 10 Left Sydney -
Apr. 12 Arr. Melbourne . Saw Director of museum
McNabey ( pronounced ma'niy ) & also C W Brazier
