L. 28 P. 27, Small hole about 30 feet from the ground in a tree about 6 inches thick. He tapped on the tree with his knife, put his ear to the bark and could hear that something was moving about inside. He cut the tree down and chopped open the hole where he found the monee. The animal is in almost the size of a four melon, is colored fawn above and has the ventral hairs while to the lower the white running upontile cheeks about to the eye, and forward to conceal the roots of the vibrissae. Ear tending to the pattern of that of Loretzomys, then less pronounced; eye very large and prominent; head short and broad as in Loretzomys and Pogonomys; tail with the terminal inch prehensile dorsally (Note: Thoma's remarks on Chirromys), coarsely scatted? forefoot with large nail on first digit; hind foot threaded across the distal end of the metacarpals, the toes only moderately elevated the first too short, not opposable; genital parts small; sex ?; mammary formula, 1-2 = 6 (as Loretzomys); vibrissae long.
