L. 20. P. 2 lighted by the sun, much of its interior was sheer white limestone. Outside I drew the pen for the first time. It seems to rise somewhere about middle Bliicher and this side of the steep faced hills while I mentioned a bit earlier. The sketch maps give my idea of the general lay-out. Malin Bliucher Sant Palmer. Black? Lucy Tungum Melvin The Palmer River had all its gravel bars exposed and dry, so the high water we are experiencing must fall come from the Black River. Spent the afternoon going over equipment, setting what to take in and what to leave here. At 5.30 Dene informed us that the plane had returned at 4 o'clock. So that's that. Rain once more tonight but very few insects at the light. Sunday, June 28. Overcast. One Melmys in traps. Shall be glad to move up to Malvin; perhaps collecting may be better there. In traps 3 Melmys, and later the local people brought two more and a Nyctomene. The seeds in the garden are nearly all up. We have radish (2 kinds) turnip, chinche cabbage, pumpkins and turnels.
