A number of rats were to the collection - Kerivoula was brought by a local native this afternoon.
Thursday, May 28. A curious incident happened y-day afternoon. I had sent out Kanamoa with 50 traps to put down a new line along the western neck of the river. About a couple of hours later Rend found saw them hunting in along the main trail followed closely by a number of bush natives. From what we could learn the boys had started back along the main trail when the bushmen's camp is and attempted to circle it without being detected. However, the bushmen saw them said "boo" & the boys put on speed, the bushy lobz meanwhile following them to me what it was all about. Anyway this afternoon just to play safe we picked up that line; happening to have trapped a rat, to have the same two boys with me and to meet a couple of bushmen gives able to put on a demonstration of the entire miscreance of the boys' behavior. Incidentally, it was a very well placed line.
Not plain is in Port Moresby & due in Darn Friday and here on Monday. Archbold is holding the Dam fort alone.
