Silver eye. Zosterops lateralis Range.- nigrescens: Maré, Uvea; melanops: Lifu. Description.- Similar to macmillani (Tanna), but very much smaller. There is some doubt, whether or not nigrescens is dif- fèrent from melanops, or whether there are not three races in the Loyalty Islands. In this case the Maré form would be new. Collecting.- A large series on each island.
