Range.- New Caledonia, Lifu, Uvea Description.- Very similar to the New Hebrides birds, possibly not distinct. Food.- Snails, worms, grub. Habitat.- Native gardens, second growth (?), swamps. Collecting.- A small series. SEE CAVLEY P.221. No.8. NOTES :- Inhabits garden lands, grasslands of interior ect. No swamps in Mare Is. (L.M.) Numbers caught in all stages of growth from young to adult in Wasalene & Boni Lepu Colony area, in middle + early January 1938 (L.M.)
