Never got a good census here (no nest) but prob. gone by 18 Feb → DA 28 Jan ±2 wks 6966. Last seen 25 July, gone by 6 Oct → DA 31 Aug ±1 Mo. 15 July 1515. Out of stores here. Also no sign of a nest or birds. 1992 19 January ♂967 gone by fall (October). Bird last seen here 15 June. 10 April 1500. Set out 2 feeders here; this is a supplemented group. 16 April 1600. Removed a starting nest (3 babies, 1 unhatched egg) out of the old(er) hole in the Valley Oak overlooking the field (facing up the canyon, in between CV proper and Cvette). 1630. And a 2nd (with 6 small babies) in one of the nest trees (above) CV. 26 May 1942. Either ♂1774 or ♂1813 roosted in the nest tonight; unfortunately, he zipped in so fast I wasn't sure which (though ♂1813 would be pretty hard to see, facilitating the difficulty; hence, if I had to make a choice, I'd go for ♂1813). 27 May Tim watched roosting tonight (Stauback had caught and painted ♂1774) and it was not him; hence, the weight of the evidence points again to ♂1813.
