HNHR
7 January 930. Counted stores: 4412. Their tree is pretty well loaded;
I'd put capacity at ~4800.
27 January *Group update*
①♀1408, ♂1660. Last seen 15 May, gone by 29 Sept. → DA 22 July ± 2 mo
②[illegible]
4 March ♂1797. Last seen 20 Oct, gone by 4 Nov. → DA 27 Oct ± 1 wk.
3 April 1205. Lots of stores still here!
14 April 820. Brought Morni up to attempt a mate-guarding watch.
920. So far have seen: ①♀1212, ②♂1026, ③♂1340, ④♂1795, ⑤♂1798.
⑥♂1027.
930. These birds are flying over and hanging out at UA2 (about
¼-⅓ of the time).
20 April Ambushed this morning at 2 holes:
(1) A new hole in a Madrone (!) back behind Big Tree.
This hole had ♂1563 and ♂1795.
(2) The next hole in the UA2 granary (these birds
have been hanging around UA2 a lot, which is
otherwise empty [but see who I caught]).
This hole had ♂1027 and ♂1222 - the latter a
bird that's been yo-yoing between UA2 & A1 for
some time (years, in fact). Interestingly, however,
he presumably had returned to UA2 after feeding
at A1 last spring, then abandoned with everyone
else. Has he since returned? Or has he been here
all along, consistently being mistaken for ♂1026
(whose band pattern is very similar) (note that I
altered his [♂1222's] bands to finally solve this).
