1991 1992 Walden D Koenig 2 Melanerpes formicivorus Black Oak HNHR 26 May 1945. Chased The 8 out at 1915 tonight so as to be sure to get him, and I did: 8426 roosted alone in the nest. 29 May Mark banded the 4 babies here and added 2 transplanted Lewis' Woodpeckers to the brood. 31 May 2000. Danny watched and reported that 8426 roosted alone in the nest. 15 June 15DD. Plenty of stores left here. Saw 2 birds, but no babies. 24 June *Group Update* 81006. Last seen 20 Jan '91 by Amy; gone by spring nest ~15 April → D.A. 3 March ± 6 wks. 22 July "A couple of hundred acorns left" (MTS) 1992 1 January 1515. There are no stored acorns here! (But I did flush a bird, so someone is still interested in this area, at least.) 30 March *Group Update* (a guess) ♀(704, ♂(494). Seen here 12 Dec; Abandoned → ~920100. Everyone else (!). Abandoned ~ 910800 1 Sept. ± 3 months This group is unoccupied (!) Incredibly enough. What is wrong up here? 29 April 940. No birds in holes here, except for a Nuthatch in the '90 nest hole. literally without stopping 941. A bird flew by, apparently on his way far below...? 955. No real sign that this territory is occupied. Leaving. 27 May 940. Bird in new hole on the long straight limb in central area. 1125. Bird in the hole again. That's it, I'm afraid. 4 June 1400. Opened the hole. Not an easy one by any means.
