Melanerpes formicivorus
Black Oak
6 January
1430. Counted stores: Central area: 1207)
Side area-1st tree: 1795
2nd tree: 710)
The 1st tree in the side area is rapidly becoming a major storage
facility here, with acorns all in and around the bark (a la Al).
These birds are doing pretty well; I'd put capacity at no
more than 4500.
