(So, unlike last year, there is a ♂ here!) ♀ Or-LG/M ♀ Or-La/or . came almost immediately. 1400. ♀ still in The hole. 1445. Giving up. ♂ still a mystery. ♀ is ♂1998 - same ♀ as last year!! 24 May 1145. Back to try for the ♂. ♀ in the hole. 1330. Leaving. ♀ still in hole, waiting for the ♂, as have I for the past 1¾ hrs. 1 June 1520. Babies are in here! Checked the nest: 2 babies & 1 unhat- ched but developed egg. Babies not weighed; maybe 5 do? [est. LED = 16 May] 11 June 940. Babies are screaming away! Set an ambush and an now going to try for the ♂ here. 1035. Both birds finally fed! ♂ is ♂ (Blk-BPk(N)) something. 1042. I take it back: ♂ is ♂ (Blue / Blk-BPk(N)) . Should be enough for an ID (Note Jim's ID here of ♂ or or Mv/M) Bands look pretty fresh. 1200. Leaving. These are certainly the only 2 birds here. 1230. He's ♂1608 - a 1988 nesting from 1500 who was the ♂ here in 1990, and very possibly (one must guess) last year as well. 17 June 1045. Set up for the ♀ for DLW. 1245. I give up. Going to band the babies. 1305. Turns out to be only 1. 13 September 1430! 2 babies, ~23 do, in the low hole! Amazing. Not banded (I didn't have blood stuff); I'll have to return ASAP. Est. LED = 11 August. A strange year indeed!
