7 January 1045. The granaries here are heavily full but birds have
definitely been busy: Valley Oak: 430 ? !!40.
Sycamore: 710 ? !!40.
They are not really anywhere near capacity, which is probably
on the order of 3000 or so.
30 March 2030. Finally ambushed the high sycamore hole (which
I opened for the census occasion, only to get #1627
only. Doch schade! However, Roger reports 4 birds
here (I'd seen 3 previously) very possibly divided into
2 groups. Apparently #1627's with a banded ♂ (identity
unknown as yet); they tend to hang out on the Arnold
(S) side of the road. The 2nd pair is unbanded and tend
to be on the N (PO Hill) side. This area obviously
needs more work!
4 April Based on Danny's watch here, the banded ♂ with #1627
would appear to be ♂1641 [♂ Maure-Red/Maure]. This is
one of the former Road Warrior birds (originally from OK Corral).
Based on precedent, the unbanded pair across the road
will be Bongo.
17 April 1000. ♂ Wh-Red/Maure #1641 in the sycamore.
18 April Monné found #1627 dead here today. It's possible
she was hit by a car, but she was several meters off
the road so it seems unlikely.
*Group update*
♂ 534 (♂NOBA) disappeared ~21 Feb ±1 month (last seen
14 Jan, gone by 30 March); replaced by ♂1641.
19 April 1045. ♂ Wh-Red#1641 here; Stanback reports a new ♂ (banded) in the
area? (Apparently #1823 from Wolfpack).
