1991 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus NPHE HNHR 3 May 800. Momie watched this morning in hopes of seeing egg-tossing but no! It's all over - both ?? (did) (eggs marked #142 by Momie). See his notes for more details. Also, see back for entire sequence so far. 3 May 1645. 4 eggs, just as expected. New eggs marked #3 #4. 4 May 1400. 5 eggs! Damn! Should have watched this morning! The measurements are pretty inconclusive, too. However, assuming that ?1531 is into her clutch, it seems more likely it's her rather than ?1533, who already laid a set of eggs that got tossed and just managed to pump out 2 more. (I'll have to check what's happened in the past in these circumstances.) I better watch tomorrow! 5 May 620. Watching. 640.
