June 19-28 Upon arrival at Beaver Creek WMA, I first assessed numbers
(CA) of lesser goldfinches in the riparian corridor of Beaver Creek, and
there appeared to be very good numbers. I then set up my
tents in a clump of trees (narrow cottonwood & box elder) in
a grassy gently sloping field, so that I would be shaded in
the afternoon. I then explored the area to look for net sites
and potential concentrations of goldfinches away from the riparian
corridor. This is a rough map of the area.
