Leon Dredfird Carduelis pusillus Washington Ranch adjacent to Rattlesnake Spring within 7 Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Eddy Co., New Mexico. Elevation 3650 feet. Jul 31 more toward Rock-Sacks. (cont) I heard one singing bird at Washington Ranch this morning include a cupie pheasess which, to my ear, seemed derived from Orchard Oriole (Icterus spurius). Curiously, species for Reed goldfinch mimic, Orchard Oriole has not been personally detected before.
