June 25-27 From Palo Duro Canyon I drove N to Amarillo Texas to pick up west-
bound Interstate 40 and head to California. I left I-40 at Carl, Tex.,
Arizona and drove south on US Hwy 89. I got sleepy southerly of Prescott,
and rested a few hours in my car. I continued on Hwy 89 to Congress,
Arizona, when I picked up Highway 71 to US Hwy 60, to Interstate 10. I
got sleepy again before crossing into California, and spent a few more
