Journal 74 June 15-21, E. winds. High elevation winds pushed clouds WSW -> ENE. The cloud (Cumulus?) cover thickened and was very dark by 12:30. It sprinkled at 11:45, then steady moderate rain 14:10 - 16:45, then heavier rain attended by lightning & thunder. This lasted until 18:30, after which there were intermittent showers until at least 22:30, when I fell asleep. On June 21, I made a run to Presidio ponds (three I visited June 10) with Kelly Bryan. We found breeding evidence for Least Bitterns (giving off calls), several "singing" (?) otherwise nothing new. We were back by midmorning. I opened my nets at 9:30 and by 10:30 I had good enough to complete my sampling requirements. Getting them to vocalize was frustrating. I gathered specimens into afternoon, wrote up notes and packed everything except the tent & sleeping bag in anticipation of an early departure tomorrow. Weather June 21 was very pleasant. Temps ranged 60-90-75F. Light dew in Am. at Presidio. Both freezes in the morning hours, w/winds 5-10 in the afternoon. Few scattered afternoon clouds, no rain.
