ROCHET, J.A. 1992 Catalogue At the beginning of the 1992 field season, I again summarize the commonly used abbreviations that I use in my catalogue. These are: - with; - without; - except; - otherwise; RR: - retained remiges, the first number indicating the number of inner primaries, beginning at primary # 1, and the second number the number of outer secondaries, ending with secondary # 1; e.g. RR: 2-3 Bilet indicates that both wings retain the previous year's retention of primaries # 1 & # 2 and secondaries # 3, # 2, and # 1; 1° - primary flight feather; 2° - secondary flight feather; 3° - tertial; FF - flight feathers; v. - very; sL. - slight (ly); EnL. - enlarged; B.P. - broad patch; lgst. for. - enlarged follicle; mcd. - moderate; ilat. - lateral (ly); STD - standard soft part colors. These standard soft part colors are for adult ♂♀, iris dark sepia brown; maxilla dark gray, grayer proximally, tip black; mandible yellowish-gray proximally, with a dusky tip; Anterior groupa yellowish; legs medium-dark grayish brown, toes slightly darker and slightly grayer. Claws medium gray; mouth lining pale yellowish; throat flesh pink. Adult ♂♀ differ only in bill color: maxilla dull medium-dark gray with a darker tip. Mandible all dusky. Beaks of juveniles all lead gray, legs and feet usually medium brown and claws dark horn. Other soft part colors are in adults, where soft part colors depart from
