Journal Day Canyon, San Gabriel Mountains near Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino Cr., California. Elevation 2800 feet. April 7 Excepting the snow, the weather was clear today with mild W. (cold) breezes. Temperatures 65-70°F. Time of visit 10:30 to 13:00. Species list: Amphibians - none. We spent a bit of time looking for Borealtoads sp. in the forest along the creek, but no success. Reptiles: Sidewinder sp (striped) snake sp. Birds: Red-tailed Hawk - 108. Cassin's Vireo California Quail - 2, other H.O.
