journal Brown Creek Wildlife Management Area, 10 miles NE of Canon City, Fremont Co., Colorado. Elevation 6,100 ft. June 19-23: this work tent putting up the remaining goldfinches captured (cont) June 22. This work I began at about 07:00, after a late rising and a filling breakfast. I worked straight through to almost 15:00. I then took down my mist nets, broke camp, and just before returning to Canon City, took a quick look in the creek. I left about 16:30 Weather June 23 brought early rain, from 04:00 to 06:30, skies clearing by 07:00. Temperature ranged from 60°-85°. A few clouds reappeared about 15:00, and at the time of departure there were thunderheads to the N. Winds out of the NE 5-15 mph blew all day.
