TROCHET, J. 1990 Cordilleran Flycatcher Empidonax Inver Table Rock, 7 mi. N.5/3 mi. W of Medford, Jackson Co., Oregon Elevation: 1300 ft. July 26 I never saw this bird, but its sinuous, pitched call and quality made it immediately identifiable as the usual local call site of Cordilleran Flycatcher. The bird called repeatedly, perhaps 15 times in the half hour between croaking note between 06:40 & 07:10, from low mixed woods just up from the creek on the SE base of the rock. It may have called at dawn, but I missed it among the other bird sounds if it did. I am very familiar with this species from my residence in central western New Mexico and know Pacific Slope Flycatcher well, too. I thought this pretty far west for this species.
