Trachet, J. 1990 70 Journal Groa Balm Beckrock Dam Zuni Indian Reservation. McKinley Co., New Mexico. Elev. 6450 ft. August 18 and Beckrock Berry's drawings. Here I successfully trapped for collection a worm-eating water hen earlier that morning, plus a low-elevation burrit warbler also collected. The meeting was held at Zuni Fish & Wildlife Head- quarters. It seems that plans are to seal the dam someway so that there will be no leaks through the basalt. I expressed my preference for maintaining some porosity, and for being mindful of wide-fly, catlike nesting habits on the east side of the lake, when the lake is dredged. We'll see what happens. Probably waiting for awhile. Weather-- gorgeous blue skies, Southwest wind 5-15 mph. temperature 65°-85°F. A few puffy clouds building around Zuni mountains as I left. Species List: amphibian: Bufo woodhousei reptiles: E. fener ligand gopher snake Racer adders ligand Thamnophis sp. Cnemidophorus sp.
