TROCHET, J. 1990 journal 56 Pahranagat Valley from hike to lower Pahranagat Lake, Lincoln Co. Nevada. Elevation approx 3500 ft. August 10 around 14:00, as that by 18:00 Thundersnow were visible (crit) in most directions. These continued until 21:00, with only a few large drops falling on me. Burns Ranch, 1/3 mile SSW of Red Springs Lincoln Co. Nevada. Elevation 3575 feet August 11 Here's a crude map of the High's Burns Ranch (pokes only in part): PANAMINT MOUNTAINS LOW HILLS AREA OF MOST INTENSIVE WORK concrete ditch 500 yds RANCH BUILDINGS WHITE RIVER CAMP LOW HILLS U.S. HIGHWAY 93 2500 yds NORTH The habitat here is splendid !! The riparian woodland is stupendous. Ash trees (Desert Ash?) in nearly pure stands dominate the streambeds at the north end of the ranch. Ed Higby (owner) tells me these are "the original trees," which I take to mean that this grove has never been cut. These trees are enormous > 12" dbh and 30-40 ft tall.
