TROCHET, J. 1990 Journal 48 Page Springs on the Bützen Kwin Harvey Co., Oregon Elev. 4235 feet. July 31 My mule nets were open from 05:20 to 16:00 and from 18:30 to 20:15. From 16:10 to 18:30 I walked the canyon south of the campground, looking for the mythical cotton-woods said to be there by my contacts in Corvallis. I found no cottonwoods in the first 1/2 mile or so I covered before turning back. I also found no goldfishes. This part of the canyon had only widely discontinuous riparian vegetation. In this mostly slow day the weather was beautiful. Temperatures were 65° - 95°, and there were only rare, puffy clouds, & 5 mph or less NW breeze from 09:00 - 17:00.
