Between 11:30 and 12:30, I walked around to the south Lower slope of Table Rock. Weather today saw temperatures range from 55°-90°F, with 3 mph S. breeze at dawn, a 5 mph ESE breeze from 09:00 to 11:00, then calm giving way to a gusty 5-20 mph N. wind 16:00-19:00, the wind dying quickly thereafter. Clouds were scarce, but they regularly sailed over Mt. McLoughlin, which, at 7692 ft, still has a bit of snow on its west side. The peak is due east, 32 miles away. The habitat here reminds me of foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Lower Table Rock is a flat-topped large hill rising about 1000 ft above the surrounding plains, about twice as
