I worked the nets all day, except for a break from 18:40
to 19:00, when I went briefly to the Brazos River for a
change of scenery and to eat supper. I moved one of the pond
nets at sunset to a field near the north residence having
corn, sunflower and mostly large Thistles. I set the net
against a large live oak. Almost all goldfinches (all but
two of about 30) seen today were males. All I caught today was
