May 26
I spent the night at the home of Al and E.J. Charles,
just north of the reservation boundary, off State Highway 32.
I got rather a late start today. I began at the Canyon delos
Blackrock Dam at 07:30, then to Blackrock Dqgue at 09:00
where I left the reservation at 13:00 (after a very quick
glance at Blackrock Reservoir) to visit the Juni Mountains in
the adjacent Cibola National Forest. Elev. 6350 - 6425 ft.
The weather was again beautiful. The morning was cloud-
less, still until 10:00 when light breezes began. Temp
range 45° - 85°F.
