Melanerpes formicivorus
Gazebo HNHR
(28 April) 1330. Opened hole: 3 eggs, fresh.
1 May 1415. I'm fairly confident, but not positive, that there are still only
3 eggs here.
31 May 1730. Banded the 2 babies here.
3 June Birds do have stores remaining here.
17 June *Group Update*
91642. Last seen by Donna on 18 Jan. (Steve claims to
have seen her feed once on 5 June, but this is The
putative
only sighting of this bird here and I am skeptical).
Otherwise gone by 18 March (Mike's census).
-> D.A. 18 Feb ± 1 month.
28 October 630. Ambushed a new hole that Any found; nabbed 5 birds, including
what would appear to be all the adults(?). But there are ±2 birds
we missed, including a ♀NOBA that Mark figures is from a late
1989 nest that we apparently missed. So, we'll have to keep trying!
