1990 Walter D Koering Melanerpes fornicivorus Haystack-Blonquist HNHR (2 June) 947. Got him. 1000. Banded the 4 babies (#1855-8) for good measure. 9 June 1520. Measured & banded the 3 remaining babies, who were filthy (the whole bottom of the hole is a mess) but fine otherwise; #1858 got reduced. 17 June *Group Update* #01083, [illegible]. Last seen 14 Dec.'89, gone by 15 March →D.A. 1 Feb. ± 6 wks (αβ) →♂1084. Seen by Mike on 15 March, gone by nesting ~1 May →D.A. 7 April ± 3 wks. Oops! Nope: ♂1084 feeding here at the nest. Forget this! 15 July Well'. Susanne saw ♂ M/DG-284 #1083 yesterday up here so I guess he's here also! Presumably he was here all the time? 17 September 1615. There are a few acorns still in the granary here, but they could all be new. If they didn't run out this summer they must have come very close to it.
