1990 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes fomincivorus Horsetail HNHR 8 January 1215. Flushed a bird from here (according to Mark there may be 4 here) when I came to check the granary, where there are 430 stored acorns! At least half are in the 2 sections of old granary I put ♦ here many moons ago, but the remainder are in new holes, especially 1 ♦ smallish, long limb sticking out low in the tree. Wow! The birds may make this a permanent tree eventually yet! 24 March 1845. Watched roosting here; saw nothing, heard nothing. 9 June 1215.
