8 January
1100. These birds have drilled a good number of holes in the locust
by the barn (at the SE corner, with box #354). Like most locusts,
it's difficult to count stores, since there's a lot of space between
some of the bark and the wood where lots of extra acorns can hide
unseen. In any case, I counted 353 acorns* and will guess that
there are on the order of 700 holes in the tree already. These
birds have done well replacing the old (locust) granary,
which fell some time ago and is now, of course, completely
gone.

15 April
♀1560 at School Hill power struggle this morning.
Today (or 16 April?) Stamback cleared out a starling nest
from the locust nest hole over by the barn.

♀1561. Last seen 14 March, gone by 14 April ~D.A. 29 Mar+20.
This bird may have been radiotracked, however, so there
may be more information on her than this.
