1989 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Plague Annex HNHR 22 January A lone bird's been roosting in a small tree near here (going up toward Buckeye) for several days, at least. Tonight I tried to catch him/her, but he escaped from the net. 9 June Mike showed me a hole up here where a 9NOBA and 31403 from Plague have been going into; apparently this group does exist (tenuously at least) and again is a "butting off" of Plague. 1400. Opened the hole, which is in good shape but empty. Set an ambush on the chance I can nab the 9 this evening. 21 October *Group Update* No sign of life up here; abandoned ~ 1 July ± 2 wks.
