Melanerpes formicivorus
Upper Arnold 2
HNHR
(3 May) Blue Oak nest tree (not used for several years). I opened it,
finding a hatchling along with 4 eggs (1 infertile). Hence,
I think we can assume a clutch of 5 and an est. hED of
~22 April.
6 May See Al notes for discussion of 81222, who I'm moving to
Al as of 15 March (±2 wks).
11 May 1305. Set up to catch 8681, from whom I only have dried blood.
1415. Finally got him. Note: his R Yellow band was missing entirely; L Yellow worn.
1420. Still 4 babies!
I replaced both!
15 May Duane watched here, seeing only 1 feeding (by 81721; at
least this is useful). Will replace the blind!
All 4 babies doing fine at 1700; 6 blind replaced with one
down the hill.
26 May 1500. Banded and (re)banded the 4 babies.
2 June Lots of stores remaining here.
18 June *Group Updates*
