15 April
1645. Things pretty quiet here; everything must just about be over. ①♂ LB/Wh #1023.
1655. ②♂ DB-WN/LA #1527 sapsucking (great sap tree here, by the way).
③♂ M/DK-DK #1699 also sapsucking.
1700. So who won the power struggle and moved in here??
22 April
1105. ♀ M' ? With luck, this is #1749 from LA2.
1112. Looks good: ♀ M/Red.
1125. ♂ DB?/M #1023
1130. Yes! It's ♀ Bilk/Bilk-w/n) #1749 from LA2, who has presumably moved in here to finally fill the ♀ vacancy. She's certainly all over here at the moment.
25 April
1030. Still some activity here. ♀ M/Red #1753 (an Arnold Schwarz bird, seen 22 April at LA2) here garricking in the granary.
1035. Chased by ♂ Wn-or/Bilk #835. Also ♀ /Bilk-wh(n) #1749 (I think)
1045. ♀ NOBA over in the nest area drilling like crazy. Things are not over yet.
1050. I may be in luck. ♀ Bilk #1749 in nest tree with a ♂. Looks like she's still in charge at the moment, at least.
27 April
955. And still more activity here. busy drumming
①♂ 20-WN/LA #1527 in granary with ②♀ NOBA! Rats! Does this mean #1749 isn't going to make it after all?
②♂ LB/Wh-LB #1023. There seem to currently be 2 ♀ NOBA; have independently fighting it out.
1005. No sign of #1749, although she could be over by the next trees. I guess this isn't over yet.
29 April
1710. Bird (s) in hole in ⚫ Big Valley Oak nest tree. Not likely to be a nest yet, but it's a likely hole to keep an eye on.
