1990 Walter D Foering Melanerpes fomiceivorus Arnold ! HNHR (3 May) After this I took the 5 babies down and bled them; see next record for details. They are now #1795-1799. 4 May 1020. Trying again for a bit, looking especially for The mysterious 81026. 1110. Got 81340! Only the mysterious 81026 left. 5 May 720-1020. Watched here, looking for 81026. Saw 81027, 81212, and that's about it. I'd say these birds need a few days to recover. 6 May See back for consideration of the 81026 problem. 10 May Steve claims to have seen 81026 feed "several times," but since he doesn't remember having seen 8122 I'm not sure I believe him. In any case, I'm here at (SSD) to try one more time for him. 1615. He's definitely here: 8 M/LP-LA #1026 at hole - didn't go in! 1718. 8 Or/Mv-DB(CN) ?? uWho is this? Legs mixed up? 1725. Leaving. Giving up. 12 May 1635. And again, going for either 81026 or the mystery 8. Seen feeding: 81212, 1717. Got 81026!! No! Turns out to be 81583! I goofed! Oh well. Wasn't really any excuse for that! 1745. Back again. 1830. That's all.
