(10 June)
1100. Bird in old Blue Oak hole at bottom of field! With
much travail I opened the hole: 3 fresh eggs (1
smell, but not a rent).
16 June
1400. Same 3 eggs in the hole; bird incubating.
24 June
1140. Mark reported that the eggs (all of them) are infertile here,
and he was right. All 3 are still in the hole, undeveloped and cold.

10 January
1300. Counted stores: Main tree: 2314 } 2390.
2nd tree : 76
The granaries are fairly full; I'd put capacity at < 3000.
12 April
740. Watching. 5 Birds together down the hill a ways. Flushed
when I walked down. Need to get another blind up here.
830. Back. 3 Birds in Tree!, including ♀ wh/mauve? ?? Must
have mixed this up?
835. ♂ or! #1385.
840. Looks pretty much like mate-guarding is going on here.
Birds are hanging together in a very tight group. There are a good
number of acorns left here, by the way.
845. ♂♂ Rats/ ? #1620. ♀♀ la-yev - #1387. ♂♂ D8/Da #1388.
902. ♂♀ orn/M#260. Also I'm pretty sure about #1388 (that
it's not 31426, who I haven't seen yet).
905. Everyone's here, except for ♂1426 (could ♂1426 and ♂1388
gotten mixed up in the Feb. census?). No nest yet, but
apparently getting close.
14 April
1615. Came up with a blind to find a fair amount of power struggle-
like activity going on. Don't tell me #260 bit the dust...??
