Melanurpus famicivans
Pipeline
11 January 1300. Counted stores here: 650. This includes quite a few holes
The birds have made here; in fact, the limbs we put up don't
seem particularly full. I'd put capacity at [illegible] 1500.
5 April 91595 seen at WGate power struggle; see notes.
1750. 2 birds (16,18) in a hole in the granary; went up and
checked it to find a hole with a yucky bottom. It would need
a lot of work (mostly woodchips) to be usable (maybe I should
add them?)
15 April 91595 at School Hill power struggle this morning.
20 April 1830. Hole in granary in better shape but still empty. Still
needs some chips on the bottom.
24 April 1900. Bird(s) roosting in the hole in the granary.
29 May 940. Watching. Is there a ? here (81689 died while being radio-
tracked).
945.! Starling in the good nest hole! Going to clean it out.
1050. Had 4 youngish babies + 1 unwatched egg. All gone. No sign of
wickerbills. Going.
Granary looks basically empty here.
20 October *Group Update*
All former birds gone. 81690, 81691 last seen 3 Jan; [illegible]
but Mike saw 3 birds here on 1 March. (them? or the new
ones?). I think I'll have them go ~ 1 April ± 2 months.
They could have disappeared anytime between Jan - September.
81595. Here @ [illegible], gone by [illegible] October, DA [illegible]. 1 June
Here now: 81689, 8157, 81468. We'll have them move (inherit)
in on 1 September. July.
