Melanerpes famicivorus
Westgate

6 June 1500. Checked the hole: 5 babies, ~3-4 do, plus 3 unhatched
and apparently infertile eggs.
Lots of stores left here, by the way.
16 June 1330. Bled the 5 babies (s.h.) 2 eggs in the nest).

No longer here:
♀L664. Last seen 9 Nov, gone by 10 Dec → D.A. 24 Nov ± 2 wks
♂L1313. Last seen 10 Dec, gone by 4 Jan → D.A. 22 Dec ± 2 wks.
♂L1106. Last seen 20 Feb, gone by 5 April → D.A. 14 March ± 3 wks
♂L582. Here (returned) during the power struggle 5-6 April,
but apparently left shortly thereafter or at least
before breeding. Best to say he only returned for a few
days.
And finally, ♂L585. Despite the apparent incest, he would
appear to be the putative breeder here.
20 October ♂L582 is back, and has been at least since 16 June when
he was 1st seen feeding. I'm just going to have him
be here starting in April.
