D.O. Stanley 1978 21 Aug. species $ set back before everything closed. Turned in car ($620), finished packing, dinner at El Escorial & to bed by 11:30 22 Aug. San Jose, C.R. to Berkeley Up at 5 & got a cab to airport, arriving 6 am, checked in, paid $5/per for exit change then waited for the 7:35 flight of Pan Am 542 to Guat. City. Rolf Kopfer showed up to see Jack Bradley & Sandy Varencamp off on the same flight! They had found a roost of 50 Furipetra at Fuera la Selva a week earlier. Flight to Guat. City uneventful, over the Nicaraguan lakes. Pan Am 516 from G.C. to SFO was delayed 2 1/2 hrs by a work slowdown by passenger service agents, so made several trips to the duty free shops. The Tourista of the last few days seems to have passed. Customs in LA was hurried, but no problems. We were the last back on 516 for the hop to SF and discovered one bottle of Moalox spilled in Ray's pack. Finally arrived SFO at 7 pm where Teel Papenfuss was waiting. It took 20 mins, tho, for the luggage to show up. Back in Berkeley by 10 PM.
