Family includes wife & her (mat) mother, daughter (highschool in Houston), son, brother (~30) & his son (also to state for private school) & a nephew recently over (as was brother) from China. The daughter spoke good English & the 2 of us played cards while the [illegible] cooked & Ray had a gay old time in Chinese. An "appetizer" of the legs & unclawed primary leg of the beasts - there are very good & apparently the tails are trucked off to the States & the locals eat the legs - obviously the best part as the tails are tough, & with little flavor. Then had rice, tails & steak for the rest of the meal. Around 8:30 drove back to town & took the room Alfredo had reserved for us at the Hotel Miami - the only hotel in town with parking - air conditioned for ~$80. To bed ~1. 2 Aug. Limon, Prov. Limon up by 8 then to Alfredo's where we were served breakfast. We then spent ~1½ hrs trying to catch Molossus________________________in his roof, getting 7. There were maybe 30 there, most down in the angle of the roof. It was very hot & cramped up there. The bats did not fly but scurried into crevices & under the plastic spread
