D.O. Strange 1978 128. 13 Aug. (contd.) more work. Were it not for todays Heteroptera I would count the days we've spent here totally frustrating. I suspect that other collectors would have similar results - a few good things that barely make the effort to come S of Cerritos de la Muerto profitable. And in only a little while, this whole region will be as disturbed as that around San Jose' & the Merceda Central. 14 Aug. San Isidro del General, Prov. San Jose' to Rd. "La Georgina", Prov. San Jose up by 8 & on the road up to Canaan. This rd takes of N from the SE end of town near Post. "Bavaria". It is a moderately good gravel rd that winds up a hilly valley. The habitat is quite disturbed with much banana & cattle. Very scenic tho, w/ one large rocky river. Returned to San Isidro then drove back up to "La Georgina" for lunch. Got permission to set nets in the woods behind here. It is lacking in much understorey except for some ground orchids (in bloom) & short trees. The ground slopes moderately to the N & there are some nice luis trees. Set 9 nets (160') in here in a large arc down & around the restaurant. Had dinner & got a room & rested 'til sundown then set up nets. Got ~ 5 Sturmiina + 2 Eptericus?
