Just here, to the right of the rd. we set 3 nets by dark in some scrubby stuff that gave way quickly to what I take for real forest - fairly lg knarled, mossy trees with much bamboo. A very likely looking place. Had dinner before coming out. Nets up at dark (~6:1/2) then the mist came in strong & the light intermittent drizzle of the day continued. by 8:45 had got #6 Sternira (c.f. ludovici) - 4 in the same spot on net 2, 2 on net 3. Dissapointed & cold we returned to our room & read ourselves to sleep. The area just behind the hotel looks as it might be promising. 10 Aug. Villa Mills, Prov. San Jose' to San Isidro, Prov. San Jose' Up very early as the hotelors were fixing the roof noisely - it rained buckets at night. A pleasant morning, lunch, then down the road to San Isidro (time ~ 1/2 hr.). We will come back to the nets. & maybe try to net at the hotel - the owner said we could. The rd to San Isidro has many nice looking possibilities but many are steep. Ray changed money & we scouted the town, noting many sleazy hotels. Drove S and saw nice Hotel del Sur 5 kms S of town.
