ication), to the Rio Hígaron, 16 km S of
Cañas by road. Here we set over the
river at obvious flyways. Saw
some Saccopteryx roosting and a tiger backed
lemon. Nets up at 6:45. Saw 1 opossum
(mid size, gracile, not Philander - long, light tail)
in a tree. By 9:30, got 1 Noctilio leporinus,
1 Eptesicus, 15. lillium, 2 Glossophaga, 6
Carollia sp. (one very ruffous above grading
to grey ventrally), and 10 A. jamaicensis.
Back for dinner and bed by 12.

Cañas, Guanacaste Prov.
Up by 8 & processing leg 10, we
worked three to 3:30. Then down to
the Río Abangaren, km S Cañas by road.
Rained like a sons-of-a-bitch when we
got there & we spent the time looking at
a Saccopteryx (?) roost in the joint
of the bridge. Got up one net by dark
(after actually) and got suckles 'til
9 when we returned. Had dinner before
leaving at "La Perla" restaurant - grilled
steak! & bed by 11:30. Got 1 G.

jamaicensis and 1 Phyllostomus discolor.
