processing last vites catch - many dead bats.
Photographed the living ones. Again had
much trouble with blood. Stopped about
4:30 & helped set up nets - Sam had already
put up some. He had been busy catching
Saccopteryx under the bridge (7) & lizards
while I was processing. Got 7 nets up
by dark & I started processing again, finishi
just before the activity started - 1/2 hr after
sunset. Worked 4 straight hours on the
nets. Desmodus primarily in the net
over the waterfall. P.t. Davii relatively
early on net closest to bridge. Trackops
in net down fm waterfall (the 2 sets just
below the waterfall were the best. Started
taking down nets ~10 finished at ~11:15, leaving many
bats get tangled as we took them down. Then down
to Tapanatepe. Picked up Pseudoplecinia? on the
road here. Got to town ~11:40 & got a coke, then
drove out 200 to Arriaga. ~~ Found a nice restaurant
on the Tonal side of town & got a good meal of Milanesa
deres y puerco. Then into "town" there & a room for $100
at the Hotel Colon. to bed ~2:30. Sleep somewhat
later as the people next door were noisy.
On the road to Arriaga, we saw 2 foxes
