D.O. Straney 1977 101 Dec. cont'd. Glossophaga were taken. Few Carolia. Got: 1 Phyllostomus discolor, 3 Pt. pamellii, 2 Sturmira, 6 Carolia, 6 Glossoplaga, 6 A. lituratus, 11 A. Jamaicensis, {21 Desmody (56 bats). Nets up by 9:45 then returned to the bus stop 0.2mi N of the hotel for some cokes which passed for dinner. Then to the motel and 2hrs of processing yesterdays bats, most of whom died during the day. Also took tissues from a Philander Dam leaned with a rock after he saw it trying to eat an A. jamaicensis caught in the net. Ventrally, the possum has a medial dusty yellow and white base washi, particularly noticeable over throat & marsupium. The inside of the thighs is more brownish. Dorsal coloration was a deep charcoal grey w/ some white tipping of scattered hairs. A handsome beast. To bed by 1:30. 11 Dec. Matias Romero, Day. to Arrecife, this. Up an unplanned late at 9:10. Breakfast at the hotel then on the road by 10:30. Drove to La Ventosa, then up past Tapanatepeque the Tuxtla Rd. Stopped 11 Km. NE Tapanatepeque at a place Terry Johnson claimed was excellent. It looks it. It is the first bridge on this road, and a small dirt road passes under the bridge to a waterfall. Started
